Natural stone · Granite, marble & quartzite
Granite, marble & quartzite. Naturally individual.
Granite, marble and quartzite offer different visual directions, from fine mineral detail to broad veining. Houstone’s published collection includes all three. Choose with the actual slab and intended use in mind rather than assuming that every natural stone behaves the same way.

Understand the selection
The slab is part of the design. Look at its overall movement, variations and finish, then discuss how the pieces will be arranged. A small colour sample cannot communicate the full pattern across an island or a long run. Ask to review the chosen material and relevant fabrication details before approval.
- Consider the relationship between countertop and backsplash
- Discuss where joins and exposed edges will sit
- Review any waterfall ends or feature pieces
Ask about the material, not just the name
Commercial names can describe appearance without explaining every property. Ask which stone is being supplied, which uses suit it and what care it needs. Marble can be sensitive to acids; stone-specific guidance helps set realistic expectations about the finished surface and how it may change through use.
Make care part of your decision
Sealing can improve stain resistance on suitable stone; it does not make the surface stain-proof. Ask whether your selected stone needs a sealer and how its condition should be assessed. The right finish and maintenance approach should fit your household, alongside the look you want. Keep the material identification and care guidance for future reference.

Useful answers
A little clarity
before you begin.
Will every slab look like the sample?
No. Natural stone varies. Review the selected slab and discuss the layout of visible pieces so the variation is understood before fabrication.
